GEELONG vs GIANTS @ GMHBA STADIUM, Friday Night 7.50pm

For the second week in a row, the Cats will be playing at home and are taking on another New South Wales team. It is fair to say the Cats were completely outclassed last weekend by a determined and injury-riddled Swans outfit. The Giants had a relatively pain free game against the Lions & will be hoping that they too can emulate the Swans impressive performance and beat the Cats on their own deck. This game will give us a very good indication of where both teams are at in terms of class. Both have injuries so at the end of the day the most determined and classier ball using team will win this contest. We expect a close encounter here but the Cats at home should just get the job done…

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Giants Alternate Line+30.5 ($1.25)

Russell Adams’ Free AFL Tip: Giants Line +22.5 ($1.40)

The Bulldogs have been far from convincing so far this season and the Suns minus Gary Ablett and now under Stuart Dew seem to have found a little swagger and have surprised a few people this season. This will be a good contest as both teams will really want to come away with the win here. The Suns are currently 13th on the ladder at 3-3 and the Bulldogs are 15th at 2-4 – Because this one is at home and the Doggies need to win it to stay in touch with the 8, we’re going with them, but not with too much confidence!

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Western Bulldogs 1-39 ($2.00)

Russell Adams’ Free AFL Tip: Gold Coast Suns +39.5 ($1.52)

ESSENDON vs HAWTHORN @ THE MCG, Saturday Afternoon 2.10pm

The battle of the old 80’s enemies is back again at the MCG. The Hawks quite easily disposed of the Saints last weekend in Tasmania and the Bombers coming off a 4-day break were completely overrun by the Demons in the 2nd half. One thing is for sure, the Bombers will be much more rejuvenated and full of vigour to take on the Hawks. The Hawks will welcome back James Sicily and with Paul Borgoyne back in the team, the Hawks are stronger! There is no doubting this game will be won out of the middle, The Hawks are Ranked 4th in the competition for clearances at 38.3 a game, whilst the Bombers are Ranked 17th (2nd Last) at 32.7. If the Bombers are any chance they are going to need to get it happening in the middle of the ground and also make sure they kick straight as this is another area the Bombers have been weak and is a significant factor when they have lost their 4 games this season. The big question here is Can the Bombers turn it around and get up for Joe Daniher’s 100th game?

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Total Game Points Under 190.5 ($1.25)

Russell Adams’ Free AFL Tip: Hawthorn WIN ($1.63)

WEST COAST vs PORT ADELAIDE @ OPTUS STADIUM, Saturday Afternoon 2.35pm

West Coast are kicking some serious goals this season (quite literally) as they are ranked 2nd for most points at 609 just behind the Tigers. Nic Nat has been a massive bonus coming back from injury this year and now with Josh Kennedy back in action, the Eagles are looking dangerous after winning 5 in a row and are now sitting 2nd on the ladder. Port Adelaide have been up and down all season but found some good form last weekend against their bogey team North. Can they travel to Optus Stadium and win? Strangely enough the common theme between these 2 teams in the last 4 year is that they both seem to beat each other at their home grounds. This will be Port Adelaide’s first game at Optus Stadium, so let’s see how that goes for them.

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Either Team Under 39.5 ($1.22)

Russell Adams’ Free AFL Tip: West Coast Win ($1.78)

SYDNEY SWANS vs NMFC @ THE SCG, Saturday Night 7.25pm

Gary Rohan plays his magical 100th game this weekend after an injury-riddled career, but if there is one thing the Swans like doing, it’s playing in milestone games. North Melbourne was typical last weekend – when the football world praises them, they come out and lose – but in saying that, Port were on a mission and not too many teams might’ve beaten them last weekend.

The Swans have generally beaten up the Roos in recent encounters and seem to match up well against them. Even though the Swans have been playing poorly at the SCG this season, we feel they can turn this around as they did last weekend against Geelong. Even without Buddy Franklin, the Swans are still a much stronger outfit than North who will need to bring a massively contested game if they are to stand any chance.

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Swans Win ($1.14)

ADELAIDE vs CARLTON @ ADELAIDE OVAL, Saturday Night 7.10pm

You’ve got to feel bad for Carlton supporters. Their team has gone 0-6 for the first time in AFL History and they just can’t seem to buy a trick. Adelaide is just being Adelaide right now and there is an injury cloud over Captain Tex, who tweaked his hamstring last weekend. We’re still not sure about the status of Sloane, but one thing is for sure: they’d better not go into this game like they did against Collingwood, otherwise, a massive upset might be on the cards.

Let’s not forget a winless team is HUNGRY. For the Crows, it will be all about stopping that hunger in its tracks and getting back to winning games. The Crows need to win at home, and they should be able to get this one over the line even if Tex and Sloane sit for the match.

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Total Game Points Over 160.5 ($1.36)

Russell Adams’ Free AFL Tip: Adelaide to Win ($1.05)

RICHMOND vs FREMANTLE @ THE MCG, Sunday Afternoon 1.10pm

Who can forget this game at the MCG in 2017 when David Mundy kicked the winning goal on the siren to sink the Tigers by 2 points. Zoom forward 14 Rounds and Richmond beat Freo by 104 points in W.A. This is Fremantle’s first game at the MCG this year and Richmond’s 6th game at the home of football. This is a significant advantage for the Tigers. The Dockers will have their work cut out for them to stop the #1 scoring side in the competition on their home deck.

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Richmond to win by 15.5+ ($1.25)

Russell Adams’ Free AFL Tip: Richmond to lead at halftime ($1.23)

ST.KILDA vs MELBOURNE @ ETIHAD, Sunday Afternoon 3.20pm

The Saints and Melbourne have been compared to each other as 2 similar teams, in re-build mode, and on their way to big things over the coming years. However, both have been disappointing this season; none more so than the Saints.

The Saints are currently Ranked 17th in Points per game, 17th in Hitouts per game and 18th in Clearances per game at a poor 30.7 per game average.

Conversely, the Demons Rank 1st in Hitouts per game, 3rd in Clearances per game and 9th for Points per game. When we look at these statistics, the Saints are going to have to completely focus on their Midfield this week during training, otherwise, this one could be a whitewash. We’re hoping for Saints supporters that it isn’t and won’t be as fans and coaches are all extremely frustrated about how 2018 has started for the boys from Moorabbin.

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: St.Kilda Alternate Line +40.5 ($1.33)

Russell Adams’ Free AFL Tip: St.Kilda Alternate Line +40.5 ($1.33)

BRISBANE vs COLLINGWOOD @ THE GABBA, Sunday Afternoon 4.40pm

This one has ‘Danger Game’ written all over it, albeit Collingwood has a massively impressive travelling record. Like Carlton, Brisbane are winless and hungry to get a W on the board. They have gotten much closer than Carlton to a win and it’s just a matter of time before things go their way. Collingwood won’t want to be the team to give them that satisfaction, and given their recent form and travelling record, we feel the Pies can get the job done… but by how much is the true question here.

James Corbin’s Free AFL Tip: Collingwood to Win ($1.37)
