Boston Celtics vs Milkwaukee Bucks
NBA: 9:30 PM EST
April 20, 2018
The Boston Celtics played an uptempo game to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 120-106 in Game 2, behind a playoff career high of 30 points from Jaylen Brown. The total of 226 cleared the o/u197.5 comfortably as the teams opened play up considerably more than in Game 1. Milwaukee shot nearly 60% from the field in a losing effort, including another pair of strong performances from forwards Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, but their combined 55 points weren’t enough to propel the Bucks into a tied series.
The absences of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward have not yet been as impactful as once envisioned, as the talented Celtics youth has flourished in their upgraded roles. Anchored by the defensive schemes of coach Brad Stevens, the C’s are capable of winning games at any tempo, despite allowing Milwaukee’s best players to score efficiently. That’s a good formula to stay competitive in what will be a hostile road Game 3 environment, and I think there’s value in getting half a dozen points on Boston’s side.
