Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics – Game 1

NBA: 3.30 PM EST

May 13, 2018

Two teams coming off impressive second-round series victories will clash in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday afternoon, as the Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to the TD Garden to take on the surprising Boston Celtics.

Lebron James leads the Cavs into his eighth straight Conference Finals after a thorough beating of the top-seeded Toronto Raptors in a four-game sweep. The Celtics, meanwhile, defeated a heavily favored Philadelphia team in five games for an unlikely ECF rematch. Cleveland won last year’s series 4-1.

Boston has been a great defensive team in these playoffs, especially on their home floor. This series archetype profiles more like the Cavs’ first-round matchup with Indiana, which was played defensively and went the maximum of seven games, than their second-round dismantling of the Raptors, which featured a fast pace and high-octane offenses. I expect somewhat of a feeling out process to open this series, and like the under here in Game 1.
