Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics – Game 2

NBA: 8.30 PM EST

May 15, 2018

The Celtics started hot in Game 1 and never looked back, leading by double digits most of the way en route to a comfortable 108-83 victory over the visiting Cavaliers. Boston improved to 8-0 on their home floor in these playoffs.

Despite being blown out in Game 1, Cleveland remains just a 1-point underdog in its sequel on Tuesday night. The Celtics have been a consistent underdog this postseason and have performed incredibly well ATS thus far, but it’s always difficult to bet against the Cavaliers, especially with superstar Lebron James coming off a performance well below his standards.

To that end, betting the spread seems like a tossup in Game 2; on the one hand, Boston’s sparkling home record can’t be ignored, but the star power of James and his supporting cast always has the potential to steal home-court advantage and tie up the series. I’m thinking the safer play might be to go back to the well and take the under, as both teams are nearly the slowest-paced in the playoffs thus far. I’m thinking it’s unlikely that a scrappy albeit undermanned Celtics team can shoot above 50% again, so let’s gun for back to back unders at the TD Garden.
