Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers

NBA: 7:00 PM EST

April 20, 2018

King James put the Cavs on his back with a gargantuan 46-point performance to defeat the Indiana Pacers in a 100-97 Game 2. Despite Lebron’s heroics, the pesky Pacers didn’t let a double-digit deficit bury them early, and made the game tight at the end. Both teams shot slightly over 50% from the field; James leading the way for Cleveland, while a caravan of players contributed for Indiana.

Victor Oladipo again led the way for the visitors, but Myles Turner and Darren Collison combined for 34 points themselves to highlight a balanced scoring attack. As Game 3 approaches Friday night, the looming question remains if the Cavaliers can find enough contributions outside of their star forward to grab a road win.

Kevin Love will be nursing a sore left thumb but expects to play. If Lebron doesn’t have another monster stat line, the Cavs could find themselves having a poor shooting night, and the Pacers might look to grind out a tough win. Even with the hot shooting performances from Game 2, the total settled under 200 for the second straight game to open the series, showing that both teams are comfortable playing at a passive pace.

Until one coach decides to open the floor and play with tempo, we might continue to see low scoring totals.
