Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers – Game 6

NBA: 8.00 PM EST

April 27, 2018

Indiana will have their backs against the wall after dropping Game 5 against Cleveland at the buzzer, as Lebron James sank a fadeaway three to propel Ty Lue’s Cavaliers to a 98-95 win and a 3-2 series lead.

The landscape will shift back to Indianapolis, as the home crowd will hope to spur the Pacers to a Game 6 win to force a tiebreaking final game. Indy is 1-1 at home in this series, but must capture their second victory at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in order to keep their unlikely playoff run alive. They were unable to overcome another superhuman effort from James in Game 5, whose game-winner capped a 44-point performance.

However, Cleveland has been unable to shake a competitive Indiana team throughout this series, as the five games thus far have been decided by an average of just 6ppg, and that’s including an 18-point Pacers victory in Game 1. With the series having been so tightly contested thus far, it’s difficult to land on a side of the Indiana -1 line set by oddsmakers.

That said, the Pacers had the highest percentage in the NBA in the regular season of games that went under the set total, at 63.5%. The Cavs were also in the top half of the league in that regard (54.1% of their games hit the under), and all five playoff games thus far have followed the same pattern. At the risk of falling victim to a streak breaker in Game 6, I’m backing the under on a total of 204.5 that has not yet been eclipsed this series.
