Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers – Game 3

NBA: 09.00 PM EST

June 6, 2018

Golden State looked more like the defending champions in Game 2, dispatching the Cleveland Cavaliers without much difficulty 122-103 at Oracle Arena on Sunday night. The Warriors shot a blistering 57% from the field in a game that never really threatened to be as close as the series opener.

Lebron James tallied 29 points on 10-20 shooting in another of a long line of stellar playoff efforts, but the Cavs couldn’t overcome the three-headed monster that is the Warriors scoring threat (Curry, Durant, Thompson). On Sunday, it was Curry’s turn to lead the way in scoring for Golden State, dazzling with several high-difficulty three-pointers en route to 33 points of his own.

Klay Thompson has been a quiet contributor thus far in the playoffs for Golden State, scoring consistently but being overshadowed by the gargantuan efforts of Curry and Durant. I’m pegging Game 3 as Klay’s coming out party; he’s averaging 22.7 ppg in his last 10 games, and 22.0 ppg overall against Cleveland this year. Oddsmakers have shown him a fairly soft line of 19 total points, so I’ll back the over in a game I expect the Warriors to win or at the very least be competitive.

Our NBA Free Tip: Klay Thompson over 19 points
