Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors – Game 3

NBA: 8.00 PM EST

May 20, 2018

The Houston Rockets were unrelenting in their 127-105 Game 2 victory over Golden State to even the Western Conference Finals at 1-1. Houston’s supporting cast was the difference, as PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon both tallied somewhat unlikely 20+ point performances to supplement a pedestrian shooting night from James Harden.

The Warriors were again led by Kevin Durant with 38 points, but aside from the former MVP in Oklahoma City, there wasn’t much secondary offense to be found. The second highest scorer for the Dubs was Steph Curry, who finished with 16 points on 7-19 shooting, and no one else for Steve Kerr’s group managed double figures.

Tonight’s Game 3 profiles similarly to Saturday’s thrashing of the Celtics by the Cavaliers playing at home. Draymond Green has said that the Warriors play best when they feel threatened, and they certainly were punched in the mouth in their Game 2 loss. I expect a significantly more balanced attack in Game 3, en route to a convincing Golden State win.
