Minnesota Timberwolves vs Houston Rockets – Game 5

NBA: 9.30 PM EST

April 25, 2018

The #1 seeded Rockets rode a monster 50-point 3rd quarter in Game 4 to overwhelm the Minnesota Timberwolves and take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Now action will shift back to the Toyota Center as the Rockets look to advance to play the winner of Jazz-Thunder.

Despite the half-century put up in the 3rd quarter, the Rockets weren’t exactly transcendent on offense in the remainder of the game, They finished with 119 points total, meaning they averaged just 23.0 points in the other three quarters. That didn’t have any impact in Game 4, as Houston eased to a 19-point win, but it makes one wonder what this offense might be capable of if they could string together 48 minutes of high-level play.

There’s no better time to do it than Game 5, where the home fans will be eager to watch their team close out an admirable but noticeably less talented Timberwolves team. Minnesota actually finished the year under .500 on the road at just 20-21, and Houston boasts an impressive ledger of 34-7 at the Toyota Center this year, not including their 2 wins from earlier in this years. The Wolves are certainly capable of keeping this one close, but again, a team that limped into the playoffs and has battled in this series to no avail shouldn’t be a match for the Houston juggernaut in Game 5.
