Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics – Game 5

The Boston Celtics return home for Game 5 after their second-round opponent, the Philadelphia 76ers, staved off elimination on Monday night with a 103-92 victory to make the series 3-1 in favor of the C’s.

The 76ers finally made oddsmakers look good by winning a game in a series where they have been favored in each of the first four contests. That will change, however, as early lines for Wednesday’s Game 5 put Boston as slight 1-point favorites.

The Celts are undefeated in the confines of the TD Garden this postseason, and I see no reason to bet against that trend when they’ve done nothing in this series to make anyone think they’re the inferior team. A one-point spread is generous for the higher-seeded team playing at home, even despite all the injuries, so I’m riding Boston to upend the youthful Sixers and make a date with Lebron James and the Cavs in the Eastern Conference Finals.
