Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat

NBA: 7:00 PM EST

April 19, 2018

Miami rode a strong defensive effort in Game 2 to snatch a road win in their series against Philadelphia, ending the 76ers’ 17-game winning streak. For those reading that followed our Game 2 tip, 10 points in the final 16 seconds turned an easy under win to a heartbreaking half-point loss.

For Game 3, the scenery will shift to South Beach, where the Heat will look to defend home floor and take an unprecedented series lead. Joel Embiid, the Sixers’ dynamic center, has taken to social media to complain about his lack of ability to contribute to Philadelphia’s postseason run, but alas, he is currently listed as doubtful to make his debut Thursday night.

Monday’s contest was notable for Philadelphia’s dreadful shooting performance; they finished just 7-36 (19%) from three, yet still made the game interesting at the end. The Heat’s eventual victory resulted from a vintage performance from Heat legend Dwyane Wade, whose 26 points (11-16 from the field) set a season high.

Philadelphia showed during their long season-ending winning streak that they’re capable of winning on the road, and they’ll be eager to bounce back from a disappointing shooting performance in Game 2. It’s rather unlikely that Wade will be as much of a force on the offensive end, so Miami must find other scoring options again to avoid getting blown out, as they were in the series opener. I’ll take the more talented 76ers team to tilt the series back in their favor and bounce back from a poor showing Monday.
