Richmond Tigers vs Brisbane Lions

April 14, 2018

What more can we say about the Tigers at the moment? They were challenged by the Hawks last weekend and held them back, Carlton gave them a run back in Round 1 only to fail and then there was Adelaide… but who beats the Crows at home anyway? There is a lot to like even without Dusty firing as much as he did in 2017. They are on a mission in 2018 to keep the Tiger Train rolling on.

I fail to remember a team over the years who haven’t won a game that is so exciting to watch. They have given the Saints, Melbourne and Port Adelaide a run for their money in every game this season. Chris Fagan has done a great job with his boys and the signs are looking good for them in the years to come.

Brisbane is dominating in centre clearances lead by their midfield brigade of Martin, Beams, Zorko and Rayner. They are currently #2 in the competition behind the Swans for most centre clearances in the league. Whilst the Tigers are dominant in most areas of statistics they Rank #3 for Inside 50’s with a 58.3 average, which will really stretch Brisbane’s defensive line.

Obviously, the Tigers are massive favourites for this one as it is at the MCG and Brisbane have struggled there in recent years.

Richmond will be well aware of the areas that Brisbane have improved in this year in regards to Centre clearances & Hit Outs and will do whatever it takes to hold them back. It is just too crucial for the Tigers to keep winning and we can’t see them losing this one, but by how much is the real question? Keep an eye on the weather for this game as it draws near, there is a 100% chance of rain at this stage and being at the MCG should make it harder to score goals and a slippery ball. We’re going with the Tigers to win by 5-6 goals as it will be no walk in the park.
