Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners

MLB: 10.10 PM EST

May 31, 2018

The Seattle Mariners will get the sparkplug back in their lineup on Thursday night, as AL stolen base leader Dee Gordon will make his return after being on the disabled list with a fractured toe. Gordon will hope to be the catalyst in Seattle’s attempt to salvage one game in their home series against Texas, having dropped the first two games by scores of 9-5 and 7-6.

STARTING PITCHERS: Texas LHP Mike Minor (4.3, 5.63 ERA) vs. Seattle LHP Wade LeBlanc (0-0, 2.70 ERA)

Minor has struggled thus far for the Rangers, and has often fallen victim to the long ball in the early portions of the season (10 HR allowed). LeBlanc has pitched well for the M’s, with five relief appearances to go along with his five starts. In games where LeBlanc starts, he’s allowed just five earned runs overall.

Seattle has been a good home team this season (16-12 at Safeco Field thus far), and tonight’s pitching matchup bodes well for the M’s to stop their skid tonight. If Dee Gordon can show any signs of returning to form tonight, the oft-quiet Mariners offense might have enough firepower against a shaky pitcher to come out with a win tonight.
