Western Bulldogs vs Sydney Swans

AFL: 4:35 PM AEST

April 14, 2018

HOME TEAM

The Bulldogs came out biting last weekend against the Bombers, but a few of the Bombers took it literally and bit back! The Dogs seem to be finding their groove with a new-look outfit this season and different roles for key players.

AWAY TEAM

The Swans are simply majestic this year and are still favourites for the Flag. It isn’t hard to see why! Buddy Franklin is winning the Coleman Medal at the moment and is probably winning the Brownlow too; add to that the sleek skill of the players they have all over the field and it isn’t hard to see why they are the Premiership favourites.

ANALYSIS

The last time these 2 teams met at Etihad was Round 3, 2017 and the Bulldogs got up by 23 points. The Swans had their vengeance in Round 12 at the SCG, rolling the dogs by 46. The Swannies rank #1 in Clearances and 4th in rebound 50’s per game, whilst the Doggies Rank #1 in marks per game but Last [18th] in tackles per game.

THE ODDS

The Swans are favourites to win here and based on current form & statistics you can understand why.

THE VERDICT

The Western Bulldogs are ranked 18th in tackles per game and will need to do a 180 on this statistic if they are to compete with the number 1 Centre Clearance team in the land. With many injuries to the Bulldogs key backs, it will be hard for them to stop Brownlow-Buddy and Sam Reid from firing at some stage. We expect the Swannies to get up here but it shouldn’t be a white wash.

Final Score Prediction: Sydney Swans by 23
